August 8, 1982. A line drive foul ball hits a four year old boy in the head at Fenway. Jim Rice, realizing in a flash that it would take EMTs too long to arrive and cut through the crowd, sprang from the dugout and scooped up the boy. He laid the boy gently on the dugout floor, where the Red Sox medical team began to treat him.
When the boy arrived at the hospital 30 minutes later, doctors said, without a doubt that Jim's prompt actions saved the boy's life. Jim returned to the game in a blood-stained uniform. A real badge of courage. After visiting the boy in the hospital, and realizing the family was of modest means, he stopped by the business office and instructed that the bill be sent to him.
Acknowledging his actions, Red Sox fans dialled back their racist taunts for a half inning.
Some people in the higher up seats shouted "Stop him, he's stealing that baby!"
They were yelling that during the anthem.

Question for the imbecile about to choke on a toothpick: How have the Astros players paid for cheating their way to a championship?

Trump on MLB boycott: "I’m just not very interested in baseball, for the last number of years...You know, you look – it’s – you want to find a game, it’s on, it’s on every channel, and yet you can’t find anything. It’s the weirdest thing. Used to be a nice, easy thing to follow."
Trump: "And you know what I mean by that. It was on one network and it was nice and good and beautiful. Today, you don’t even know what the hell you’re watching. So I would say boycott baseball, why not."

Conforto's gonna get one in the ribs and he'd better just laugh it off.

A bean ball is a bean ball. This is good baseball. I smell a fun season... but not for the Red Sox. I'll be a Mets fan this season.

I shall laugh long and hard if Schilling the Younger gets hammered for this.
