I'm serious when I say that I can't believe he hasn't run for president. He profiles quite well with so much of the constituency.

Hawley and Cruz at the top of that list. They assume being loathed by everyone around them is proof of that.revbob wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021, 6:38amNo doubt there's a ton of Republicans who think they can out Trump Trump.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑09 Jun 2021, 5:03pmhttps://thehill.com/homenews/house/5575 ... s-to-fight

Re: The Future of the Republican Party
I can totally see Trump telling everyone he isn't running, letting the various snakes compete in the primaries to be his heir, then declare they are all inadequate and announce his candidacy. Which forces them to oppose him or drop out. Because that would be so much media coverage and ego stroking for him, forcing people to publicly bend to him and turn on the insufficiently loyal.Sparky wrote: ↑13 Jul 2021, 2:21pmI sure hope this self-implosion continues.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑13 Jul 2021, 1:25pmI never would have believed they'd eat each other!

Re: The Future of the Republican Party
For all the talk about civil war and the like, I truly don't think these assholes have the stomach for the kind of sacrifice required. Real revolutionaries do it when there's nothing left to lose. These people still have plenty to lose, in material wealth and status, so they aren't going to risk it all with their tantrums. They're bigot fantasists.
(Which isn't to endorse prison conditions one iota, mind you.)
