I can totally see Trump telling everyone he isn't running, letting the various snakes compete in the primaries to be his heir, then declare they are all inadequate and announce his candidacy. Which forces them to oppose him or drop out. Because that would be so much media coverage and ego stroking for him, forcing people to publicly bend to him and turn on the insufficiently loyal.

For all the talk about civil war and the like, I truly don't think these assholes have the stomach for the kind of sacrifice required. Real revolutionaries do it when there's nothing left to lose. These people still have plenty to lose, in material wealth and status, so they aren't going to risk it all with their tantrums. They're bigot fantasists.
