And... who fucking cares. When was the last time he did something interesting? Assholes "taking a stand" for nothing. You can bet he's vaxxed though rich white man privilege

I had read somewhere a while back that he'd taken a position that opposed the vaccine and was claiming to have lots of "facts" to support his views. In the end, I just lost a lot of respect for a talented musician. As they say, shut up and play.

I stepped on a piece of shit once. I swear as I was scraping it off my footwear it screamed Layla at me.

Good work you two.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

He also never fully walked back his support for the anti-immigrant Enoch Powell.

Putting it mildly, on both counts. Powell was a full-blown white supremacist and Clapton has dodged the whole thing by blaming drugs and being in a head space at the time. But three or four years later, he was still defending Powell as a typical good person who just cares about his country. Clapton deserves scorn and ostracization.

It was as recently as 2007, I believe, that he stood by support of Powell.

Wow. I didn't know he was still being that explicit.

Yeah, I wasn't aware of this still being an issue either, what a shame.

As Kaleb said on twitter, it’s a shame Clapton died tragically right after they recorded the London Howlin’ Wolf sessions.
