Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

You completely misread me. I'm saying to have a chance at a passing grade—the minusest of D-'s—you have to show up and participate. That's the "warm body" minimum.

Both shows were great, but the Portland show was transcendent. The band are much better suited to small venues, at least from where I was standing. In Seattle, they had booked a larger theater than they had been playing up until that point and I guess there were some sound problems for Channy because they had the live automation keyed in for more intimate venues. I agreed with her that it was far too bassy. The venue was somewhat sparsely attended, which throws a lot of light on the fact that, no matter how much people like to think Seattle is a music town, it most assuredly is not. The Portland show, on the other hand, was appropriately sized (and sold out) and the sound was incredible. Channy said on stage that Portland is one of their favorite places to play because they get more love there.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑24 Jun 2022, 6:37pmI want to, but I just can't write you out of my will, baby brother.Kory wrote: ↑24 Jun 2022, 6:12pmSame. That's fantastic that the shows were so good from your perspective (less so from hers). So I take you chatted with her afterwards, or was she talking about Seattle on stage?Kory wrote: ↑12 Jul 2022, 3:40pmBoth shows were great, but the Portland show was transcendent. She was talking on stage. They had to stop one of the songs just as it was starting because she couldn't hear anything but bass. As I say, I agreed with her—at one point it was so loud and muddy that my earplugs were rattling in my ear canal.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑12 Jul 2022, 3:52pmThat's fantastic that the shows were so good from your perspective (less so from hers). Still, I don't think they like it to be muddy though. Or maybe they do. Little miscreants...Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑12 Jul 2022, 4:33pmKids today, tho, they like the bass. They played a nice small venue in my old neighborhood in SF. I thought briefly about going to see them and probably should have.Kory wrote: ↑12 Jul 2022, 3:40pmBoth shows were great, but the Portland show was transcendent. Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
