We had established that was a cover, hadn't we?
Yes DJ Hollywood. But the BAD version owes more to Busy Bee.

I was lucky enough to see them play both US North and Poontang live (Manchester International, February 1987). They both stood out for me, so I was disappointed they didn't get released back then.

"Poontang" are you trying to "Wind Me Up". ;)
Ha ha, of course. :)

Bit of a tangent, but it'd be cool to have a good soundboard recording of the BAD reunion after they added that second guitarist whose name escapes me. I have an audience tape of the show in Irvine (they did Rob Peter Pay Paul and I thought it was the highlight of the show) but that's about it. Some really phenomenal gigs from that reunion.

Andrew Davitt aka Davo.

Lollapalooza was a great soundboard recording.

No, it was originally an outtake from Tighten Up Vol. 88.
Do we know how many more other unheard outtake tracks exist for tighten as well as all the other albums including Bad II. I mean i dont want an accurate listing of course but would there be enough for a whole album ? or maybe more ?
I'm pretty sure Poontang was recorded. Also Return of the Great Mazuma must have had at least a demo recorded.
Return of the Great Consumer. Not sure if there is a demo actually. Kaleb, the guitarist is Andrew Davitt, or Davo.

Return of the Great Consumer.
There was a bit of a discussion about this somewhere (on FB I think) and it appears "mazuma" is slang for money, and it certainly sounds like Mick is saying mazuma in the introduction. Though "consumer" would make sense as well in the context of the lyrics.

I'd love to know the lyrics to that one some day. I've only ever been able to figure out the chorus to it, the rest I can't figure out cause the one recording of it isn't that great.

What's the show that this track comes from?

Whilst I don't doubt TeddyB for a second regards the title.

Mick definitely announces it as "The Return of the great Mazuma" on the live Brixton Academy December 18, 1987 show.

So here's my attempt at deciphering those lyrics.

"The Return of the Great Consumer"

A song which appears to be about Trellick Tower and the like which Erno Goldfinger (architect) designed.

Everybody had a good view
Use your voice some of it is you
Lose it now or big fund lottery
Maybe I could treat you
If you come with me

No I wouldn't change it
Though I would
To help you down
Top of the mark
It's your new neighbourhood

That's right

In for a penny
In for a pound
London gold can't be found
Money makes the world go 'round
Yet this money makes the greeders doubt

People say it's true
That when all we fought
People say to us
We've seen it before
Those zodiac star lit roads don't thrill
Had the same seats at the top of the hill

In for a penny
In for a pound
London gold can't be found
Money makes the world go 'round
Yet this money makes the greeders doubt

Over by the works
It's ten o'clock
Bear with me
Well if you like filling up
We'll soon be there
But people get a lick on
This time you have no doubt
I wouldn't change a thing
I'd work my way across

In for a penny
In for a pound
London gold can't be found
Money makes the world go 'round
Yet this money makes the greeders doubt

I hope I have a pussy cat
At home right here with me
And if I had some more spare change
I'd show the boss I'm cooking
This cat rolled n' went
To find where I'd put my bloody socks
Before we finish cooking
I think she's getting cross

Everybody tell me your view
Please can you tell me something's that's good
Looking down no streets or lottery
Maybe I could sell it you
If you'd come n' see

No I wouldn't change it
Though I would
To help you down
Top of the mark
It's your new neighbourhood

In for a penny
In for a pound
London gold can't be found
Money makes the world go 'round
Yet this money makes the greeders doubt

In for a penny
For every rotten day
I fear to involve you and everything you say
Yes! Everything you say

In for a penny
In for a pound
London gold can't be found
Money makes the world go 'round (word!)
Yet this money makes the greeders doubt

In for a penny
In for a pound
London gold can't be found
Money makes the world go 'round
Yet this money makes the greeders doubt
