Purely because I've been on a Lou Reed solo kick this past while and, all in all, it's been a pretty decent ride (sally ride)!

New York
New Sensations
Magic and Loss
Coney Island Baby
Berlin
Transformer
Street Hassle
The Blue Mask
Lou Reed
Songs for Drella
Legendary Hearts
Ecstasy
Rock and Roll Heart
Set the Twilight Reeling
Mistrial
Lulu
Growing up in Public
(Metal Machine Music; Hudson River Wind Meditation; The Bells; The Raven - couldn't get into any of these so unranked)
Nice.

I normally don't have any issues with one-hook songs (mag 7 is my fav Clash song, after all) but that one slightly jars with me for not ultimately going anywhere. But tbh, i could revisit a few of those albums, including The Bells and The Raven, and could tweak things. The other two, just no way, merely proving i could only ever be the most casual of Lou Reed fans ;)

Yeah, I can see that regarding Disco Mystic... I find it really hypnotic.

It's a decent hook tbf with a good driving bass beat. I definitely don't dislike it by any means.

This one was tough. I tried to limit it to Costello solo and with the Attractions or Imposters. His initial run of albums was damned near perfect, at least until Punch the Clock, which while good, was not (at least in my opinion) excellent.

This Year's Model (1978)
My Aim Is True (1977)
Armed Forces (1979)
Imperial Bedroom (1982)
Get Happy!! (1980)
Trust (1981)
King of America (1986)
Blood & Chocolate (1986)
The Delivery Man (2004)
Look Now (2018)
National Ransom (2010)
Momofuku (2008)
The Boy Named If (2022)
Almost Blue (1981)
All This Useless Beauty (1996)
Spike (1989)
Punch the Clock (1983)
When I Was Cruel (2002)
Hey Clockface (2020)
Brutal Youth (1994)
Secret, Profane & Sugarcane (2009)
North (2003)
Mighty Like a Rose (1991)
Goodbye Cruel World (1984)
Kojak Variety (1995)

Fantastic list and I'm in complete agreement on your top 3, truly essential and absolute best EC ever as far as I'm concerned.

This Year's Model (1978)
My Aim Is True (1977)
Armed Forces (1979)

Did we ever do Pink Floyd? If not - here is my ranking:

The Dark Side of the Moon
Wish You Were Here
The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Meddle
Animals
The Wall
A Saucerful of Secrets
Atom Heart Mother
Ummagumma
More
The Final Cut
Obscured by Clouds
The Division Bell
The Endless River
A Momentary Lapse of Reason

Dark Side and WYWH could both take the top spot, but going with Dark side right now. The Final Cut is better than I give it credit for, but it's also not an easy listen. The post-Waters output is not awesome. It sounds like Dave Gilmour and a bunch of side musicians trying to make music that sounds like Pink Floyd. That said, Gilmour is one of my favorite guitarists so I don't need much excuse to listen to him play.

Borrowing from Alan Partridge, I think I'll go with The Best of Pink Floyd.

Hmm, I'll join you and Kory and rank these. I'm an unabashed Syd Barrett partisan, so that's reflected, and I admit I've gotten more and more into their post-Barrett/pre-Dark Side stuff over the years. There's a very gritty quality to a lot of it that I've enjoyed more and more over time.

-The Cream of the Crop:

The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
A Saucerful of Secrets
Animals
Meddle

-Upper Echelon:

Wish You Were Here
Atom Heart Mother
The Wall
Ummagumma
More
Obscured By Clouds

-It's Not "Bad" Per Se, But It Is The Most Overrated Record In Rock History:

The Dark Side of the Moon

-Not Really "Good" But There's Some Interesting And Abrasive Political Commentary Happening Here I Suppose:

The Final Cut

-These Really Do Suck, David Gilmour Is a Soft Rock Pussy:

The Division Bell
The Endless River
A Momentarily Lapse of Reason

Interestingly, they haven't really released any good live albums (except the live half of Ummagumma, I guess). I'd probably rate all their official live albums somewhere below The Final Cut. Which is weird, because I'd rate Live at Pompeii the concert video/dvd as one of their finest releases. Maybe slot it right after Meddle or something. Maybe even higher.

All their other misc early Barrett era stuff belongs right at the top as well. what a great psych band they started out as.

The Nile Song kicks ass. I actually maybe should have More placed a little higher due to that song alone.

I'm glad to see Meddle getting some love. It's a great recording.
