not as good as the first one, but I guess some people miss me in LA. (neices, drug dealers, etc)
Hello,

There's many good bands from my youth here. I just wonder are some of these one-off's - do Modern English, Love and Rockets, The Human League still actively tour? Perhaps it's some form of each.

Love and Rockets are an occasional thing, tho the recent Bauhaus series of shows probably got them going again.

I've heard mixed reviews, but personally I'd consider it. I saw Rollins and Morris play Black Flag (backed by the Rollins Band) and it was awesome. Sure, the current version is Ginn and a bunch of newbies, but if the energy is there - those songs will sound good.

They've swung around a few times to Colorado and I'm always tempted but have never pulled the trigger. Their last album sucked, and it's fuckin' funny that their tour manager is now also their lead vocalist. Ginn's a real piece of work. I've heard nothing but bad things about most of the recent revival shows BUT - and this is a huge one - they're playing MY WAR in its entirety this tour (which I'm sure you know) and that, my friend, may make up for any other shortcoming inmaginable. Seeing Ginn noodle through side two of that fucker has the potential for transcendence, imho.

I saw FLAG some years back which was basically a religious experience and I've seen OFF! a couple of times which is what I think pre-Damaged Black Flag would be in modern days. I guess I'm thinking, like you, maybe I should see Greg Ginn's Black Flag Jambaroo while I can...

Countdown to DM - we just booked our hotel, so it's getting real. April 5th.

Also just got Tori Amos tickets for July. I've been a huge fan since her first album and I have never seen her, so I am excited!

I saw Tori sometime pre covid. Lots of edgy 40 somethings in the audience. It was a good time.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I just found out that there's a fairly good local punk show scene happening. And how am I just hearing about this now?

Talk about feeling old...

I'm really, really, really thinking about seeing DM when they come back to Chicago in fall. One of the few bucket list bands I have left.

Yeah, if "local" is Boston and you're referring to SLAPSHOT in a few weeks that you should get your ass down for. We can ask Choke what he thinks about the ghost runner and settle things once and for all.

Y’all talking about Dave Matthews. It’s DMB, no DM.

Because he's not here to hurl righteous anger at me for the suggestion: Wolter.
