Nah, it's an ongoing in-joke in the Shamerd thread. Tep started it, finding pictures of drunk girls doing embarrassing stuff and calling them Kaleb's latest girlfriend.Sparky wrote: ↑31 Jul 2024, 8:36pmCan't say for sure, that was way before my time here on the board.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑31 Jul 2024, 8:11pmSo you're saying he might have been one of Kaleb's lady friends?Sparky wrote: ↑31 Jul 2024, 8:04pmSnopes confirms picture circulating of JD Vance passed out on the floor with his pants partially down during his college years is legit.

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Depends on who you think he was speaking to. Trump doesn't do moderates or undecided—he speaks to his base, and they loved what he had to say.WestwayKid wrote: ↑01 Aug 2024, 9:49amhttps://www.theguardian.com/us-news/art ... ts-chicago

I love that almost immediately MIke Johnson begged Republicans not to go racist/sexist—fantastic that that has to be said in the first place—but everyone knows that that scorpion was going to sting the frog. I read something from an unnamed Trump aide who said that they were trying to rein in his worst behaviour and language, but there wasn't a whole lot they could do. Sorry, kids, grandpa's stuck in his ways and he's going to say things at Thanksgiving …revbob wrote: ↑01 Aug 2024, 12:25pmYeah will be edited nicely for the Fox faithfulDr. Medulla wrote: ↑01 Aug 2024, 10:43amDepends on who you think he was speaking to. Depends on who we're talking about too. Trump feeds off both adulation and grievance, so he's happy as a pig in shit either way. But the interview was stopped after 30 minutes by campaign staff who were obviously trying to stop the bleeding. Trump campaign knows they need some inroads with black voters to win and I think the actual staff people probably view yesterday as a huge debacle (not helped by Trump and his surrogates doubling down on the "Kamala isn't a real black" shit later). As they should.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑01 Aug 2024, 10:43amDepends on who you think he was speaking to. I'm a bit unclear about your first sentence. Is it the distinction between Trump and the alleged adults in his campaign?Flex wrote: ↑01 Aug 2024, 1:23pmDepends on who we're talking about too. That said, the odds of him doing the same thing again and again in the next seven days are … hmmm, Vegas is refusing to take the bet.

Yeah, he has seasoned operatives running his campaign this time around. Yeah, I think fundamentally the key to success for trump was to run a campaign against Biden where Trump basically didn't have to do anything except some of his occasional white power rallies and rely on Biden's continuing public decay to suppress the nib-trump vote sufficiently. When Biden dropped, one of the consequences is trump has to actually campaign and reach beyond his base to win and when people are re-exposed to him it's usually a disaster for that effort. That said, the odds of him doing the same thing again and again in the next seven days are … hmmm, Vegas is refusing to take the bet.

Right—that was Amanda Marcotte's argument in a piece last week. He's now forced to leave the bubble, which plays into the Democrats' goal to make the election about him. Let Trump be Trump worked well enough in 2016, but the novelty has well worn off.Flex wrote: ↑01 Aug 2024, 3:02pmYeah, he has seasoned operatives running his campaign this time around. Hello,
I wonder if Trump's staff knew about his continued efforts to disprove Harris' blackness.
