Interesting, thanks for posting it.
But, let's face it, compared to the previous covers, the Combat Rock one is the one I like the least.
Smith took some fabulous shots on that Pacific tour, especially the beautiful black and white ones taken on stage included inside FHTE or on the back of the 1988 IFTL single.
But, that color shot they chose as the cover, personally, never convinced me.
Maybe RPFTFB would have had a different cover?

Pretty funny that as the person that altered RP so much would be the one to publish the proposed album cover for it.

I agree. The weird silver gradient border around it sucks too. It would be a good picture for a back cover or insert but not a front cover

I was going to say it's the worst of the original run suggesting that CTC is the worst based on the general CTC aura of awful. But, like gambling in sports, I decided to reconsider, is the CTC album cover bad? The corrugated metal is kind of cool, the punk is a little cheesy, but kinda works. Color scheme is alright. It's a bit hamfisted, like the album itself, but I don't hate the cover. I know it nearly convinced an impressionable young Flex to make it his first Clash album, but that might not be a good argument in its favor.

Rope works best for me then the debut as it is a good zerox image in the style of the fanzines.

Cut the Crap is not as good as the This Is England sleeve for me. But it's ok(ish).
