Movers and Shakers appreciation thread
I was listening to it last night, drunk. I've found alcohol improves the listening experience where CtC is concerned and this song is wonderful. Those great trumpets, are they real or synthetic?
Any CtC virgins, make sure you pop your cherry with a bellyful of booze.

As I've said before, Movers and Shakers is my favorite song off CTC. TIE and North and South are better songs, but in my opinion Movers and Shakers is the only song on CTC that was meant to be recorded with multitracked guitars, football chanters, etc...

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

The saddest bits on Cut the Crap:
1) "rock rock, Clash City Rockers!" in We Are the Clash
2) Nick's "come on!" near the end of Movers and Shakers

In all seriousness though, that Clash City Rockers bit in WATC makes me a bit sad every time I hear it.
